AQHA 1989 Grullo Stallion
Smokes Moon Shadow is the first stallion of our grullo adventure. We started with his dam, Silver Moon Bars which is out of a black and a grullo. She has lines of Top Deck, Tinky Poo - then we crossed her on Tacoma Smoke, his parents were both grullos and included the bloodlines of Chicaro, Snipper Reed and Baily 2.
Smokes Moon Shadow turned out to be the nicest horse to ride, so smooth and very easy to train, so responsive. He has tons of heart and can really travel, very athletic and a fun horse to ride. He also, just like his dam, love people and attention. We stood him as a three and four year old. We sold Shadow to Susie McBride who has loved him and really enjoyed him. Shadow has some great offspring and has proven them to cross over with other lines and produce great as well.
He is a 100% color producer, 80% grullos with all color mares. I can say we enjoyed Shadow so much and was so much fun to ride just like this dam. His offspring have been loved by all and proven to be extremely athletic in competition. He produces tough using horses with personality and that gorgeous look and movement.
