SHOWBOYS BLUE SHADOW

Showboys Blue Shadow is the second stallion we have raised. We decided to buy another mare when we had Shadow, but wanted something very special.

REDNECK REED
Redneck Reed, 1979 Dun Stallion, Owned by Wayne Maggard

We had heard good things about Wayne and Nadine Maggard's line from Hazel and when I came across a black grullo mare, named Bleubelle Red, from his stallion we bought her when she was four-years-old. She was by a son of Snipper Reed that they stood, Redneck Reed.

She is a big 15.2 hand mare and 1350 pounds. (for photos, go to the mare page.) Big hip and nice head. She was my riding horse to replace Shadow's dam from an injury. It didn't take me long to decide I had done the right thing as she was so much fun to ride and be around. Crossed with Shadow, they produced wonderful babies and so Showboy was conceived. He is on gorgeous big boy and like his Dad, a 100% color producer. His get have been incredible with huge hips and very balanced. They are athletic and have lots of heart yet and enjoy human companionship that our line carries. He was an instant hit in the breeding business. Everyone loves him and he has proven how great he is with his great offspring. He just consistently puts down style and class into his foals. The bonus, of course, is the color that has been bred into them now for four generations. We stood Showboy in his second year and then he was bough by Jeff and Wendy Hoffman. They have continued his stallion career and have been very successful. We also continue to raise wonderful foals from this stallion. He is not just color, but exceptional and has proved it.
